Five Low-Spice Book Series for Summer

Five Low-Spice Book Series for Summer

Hooray! We made it to summer, time to get out those lawn chairs, sprinklers, and a good book series. The predicament? What to read next.

Here is a list of five fun, lighthearted, and low-spice series for summer.

  1. The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion by Beth Bower. This series has been all the buzz since Bower introduced the witty fictional character Emma M. Lion, who navigates Victorian life in London, England, and introduces quirky, stern, and lovable characters.

  2. Descendents of Angels Series by Tracy Daley. What if the children of angels lived among us, and they were in need of help? Follow humans, Ellie, and Treadon as they take on a group in the shadows, in hopes of saving the world.
  3. Timeless Series by Gabrielle Meyer.
This historical fiction series not only lets you live one life, but two! In every book, the main character is a time-crosser who alternates time periods, each time the clock strikes midnight, until they ultimately have to choose which life they prefer to live when they reach a certain age. Each book will leave you rooting for which life to choose and crying for the one they lose.
  4. The Esperance Trilogy by Heather Frost. This New Adult Fantasy Romance will leave you spinning and looking for more as a group of young adults is forced into arranged marriages to save their people. The six couples must work together to bring peace to the land, but there is only one problem: someone is trying to kill them. Will the couples work together to save the empire, or will one of their unique gifts tear it down instead?
  5. The Tate Brothers Series by Deb Goodman. When six brothers try to build a resort in a small town, they are in for a surprise. This low-spice, seven-part contemporary rom-com series will leave you laughing and rooting for love.

If you are looking for more low-spice fantasy options, here is a great list by Goodreads.
